  • a long overdue update ...

Things have been busy for us here in New Mexico.
We finally came to understand why God kept us here for such a long time (or rather my husband here for such a long time).  We came to meet a family right before Jacob was born and didn't think much of it then.  But now, they are going through a difficult time in which we were able to help to our best abilities.  It's emotionally straining and difficult for us as well, but we trust that God knows what He is doing and am simply obeying.

With that said ... we finally have news that we will be leaving this base soon.  We know by word that we are getting orders and to where.  Within a month, we should be receiving papers that confirm these orders and tell exactly when and where we will be going.  We are so excited for the journey ahead of us.  If all goes well, we will be able to finally see the world.  Wherever we go, everyone is always welcomed to visit.  =]  And now that we have orders, we will be going to California soon to spend some time with family & friends.  Waiting is the hardest part; uncertainty just kills me.  However, I know that with patience we will recieve word of things that will allow us to finally pursue our dreams as a family.

This is such a vague entry but I will update again once things are finalized....

  • No news yet ...

Friday was the EDD and still no baby.  I have been in and out of the hospital 3 times already because they kept wanting to monitor things for longer periods and every time, they tell me everything looks great and they want to keep waiting.  Which is fine for me becasue I'd rather go into labor naturally than get induced.  So now, we play the waiting game ... hopefully he'll get ready to come and meet his mommy and daddy real soon.

In the mean time, my husband and I have been spending a lot of time together, which is of course GREAT!  Ever since he's been back, he's been on R&R ... which is rest and relaxation.  During this time, we've been together every minute possible.  We made some major purchases together and have been constantly organizing the house and getting things settled.

Our biggest purchase was our new car ....

    the hyundai santa fe

We drove all the way to the city of santa fe (4 hours away) to purchase this baby from a salesperson who turned out to be korean (the only krn dude living in santa fe at this moment ... or so it seems).  Now, we have a car that actually fits our car seat.

When we got married, we didn't purchase much furniture ... actually the only thing we really purchased was mattresses.  We were supposed to buy everything this time around but we only managed to get our living room together as of this moment.  It's actually ok because our house still looks full and we don't really NEED anything else right now.  As time goes and when we're in need, we'll make our purchases and eventually finish our "house".  But for now, everything is just peachy~

Husband starts work tomorrow, so I guess that means no more being lazy together.  He'll be working and studying for a test coming up for him.  I'm going to try to see if there is a way for me to keep studying too.  We'll see how things turn out but for now, I may start by just studying for my GREs and seeing about going to grad school.  But for the time being, I look forward to being "mommy" and only that.

Next time I update will be with pictures of our son ... so stay tuned and please pray for a safe delivery!  (whenever that will be~)  =)
